MEETING IN ROMANIA

Meeting in Oradea, Romania 24th October 2010- 30th October 2010

The first project meeting took place in the Romanian town of Oradea from 24th October to 30th October 2010. 2 teachers and two students from Spain, 2 teachers and 2 students from Greece, 2 teachers and 2 students from Poland, 3 teachers from Bulgaria, 3 teachers from Turkey and 3 teachers from Italy travelled to Oradea. The six students taking part in the project meeting were hosted by Romanian families involved in the Project. We want to thank both the families and the Romanian teachers for their hospitality during our visit.
One of the first activities was to present our towns and educational systems, so that each of us could get a better idea about the other Partners.

The main tasks undertaken during this project were: discussing the activities for the first year , fixing the deadlines for them, making agreements about the design of the webpage and about the Final Products which would be obtained after working on the tasks in each school. We also decided that each partner would take the responsibility of managing a final product. A questionnaire on environmental issues made with contributions from all Partners would be filled in by at least 100 students from each school at the beginning and at the end of the project to check what students had learnt along the two years of the Project and the accomplishment of the inicial objectives of this partnership.

As for the visits, the Romanian school prepared a very interesting programme for us. Apart from the premises of the School and the opportunity of taking part in their “School day” we visited another school in Oradea, also involved in Comenius projects and the “Regional Inspectorate”. As for the visits directly connected with our topic we have to mention the Headquarters of the Natural Reservation of Apuseni Mountains, the Environment Agency and a beautiful cave.
We also had the chance of being guided by the Romanian students through their beautiful town. It was a very busy week both in terms of working meetings and visits which certainly paved the way for a closer future collaboration among the 7 schools.

The two Spanish students who participated in this meeting have made a powerpoint presentation to sum up their experience.

Hand and Hand for the Environment Protection
