MEETING IN ITALY

MEETING IN PALERMO, ITALY 19th November 2011- 25th November 2011.

Two Spanish teachers and four Spanish students participated in the meeting in Palermo.
The main purposes of the meeting were to plan in detail the activities to be carried out until the next meeting, which would take place in Spain in March 2012 as well as giving students from the countries in the project the opportunity of being in touch with European teenagers and to practice English in a real context.
The activities undertaken in Italy during these days were:
  • Each school presented the activities and the dissemination of results done during October and November: activities which have dealt with traditional energy sources and the effect of transport on the environment. Presentation of brochures, posters and ppts.
  • Our Italian partners presented the summarised results on the work done by all the schools about traditional energy sources and energy transfer.
  • Discussions about the design of the leaflets to be done on alternative energy sources. We also made agreements about the dictionary, the renewal of the website ,the questions to be included for a survey on public and private transport and the final outcomes of the project.
  • As for the study visits we went to a factory of solar pannels ( Bravo Solar in Agrigento), the hydroelectric plant E.Majorana in Termini Imerese and the thermoelectric plant Enel.
  • We had the chance to admire some of the Sicilian cultural heritage thanks to the visits of the city of Palermo, Agrigento, Caccamo and Monreale.
We want to thank the Italian families who got involved in this project and hosted our students.
