MEETING IN BULGARIA

MEETING IN ASENOVGRAD, BULGARIA 26th May 2012-1st June 2012

The last meeting of “Hand in hand for the environment protection” was held in Asenovgrad from 26th May until 1st June. Four Spanish students and four Spanish teachers travelled to the above mentioned town to take part in all the activities arranged by our Bulgarian colleagues.

As for the tasks undertaken during this meeting we mainly focused our work on the preparations to write the Final Form of our Project, which will have to be sent to all our National Agencies before the next 30th September 2012. Each country presented the conclusions we had drawn from the questionnaires that Romania, coordinating country, had asked to be filled in. The results have served to give detailed information about the involvement of students, teachers, coordinators and local comunity on this project as well as their satisfaction, problems we all had to deal with, benefits obtained from taking part in the project and so on. We also went through Part A of the Final Form to agree on the information which should be included, since this part is common to all Partners.

Besides, we presented the last task done in our Schools: “ the cycling tour” in favour of the Environment. Students from Spain showed a video on this activity.

Regarding the study visits included in this meeting, we made a trip to Pamporvo, a mountain resort in the Rodopi mountains. Unfortunately and because of the rainy weather we couldn´t see much and we couldn´t either go through the Ecotrack Neviasta or see the “Wonderful Bridges”, a natural phenomenon in the area. The Bulgarian team also took us to a local factory of biodegradable plastic bags, where we were explained the processes to make the bags and were shown the premises.

As for cultural visits, we enjoyed the visit to the Monastery of Bachkovo, Asen’s fortress as well as the guided tour of Plodviv where we visited its famous Roman theater and amphitheater and the old part of the town. We were also taken to the City Hall and to a show with folk music celebrated on Sunday 27th May ( Day of Asenovgrad).
